I’m Lauren, the owner of Lauren Mienert Marketing! Along side my love of marketing, I’m a passionate disability advocate, avid knitter and crocheter, and cat mum.
My story
I’m a disabled creative in my 30’s who graduated from Marketing at Queensland University of Technology in 2023 and a prior degree in Creative & Professional Writing also from QUT. Like many, COVID19 was the catalyst for going back to University for me, as I was unemployed and had been trying to find a career path that would allow me to be creative and use my writing skills and marketing seemed like it would be a good fit, and it was!
The decision to start Lauren Mienert Marketing came about because a friend and fellow business owner needed help with their marketing strategy and social media, but didn’t have the knowledge or time to do it themselves and also didn’t have the need or budget to hire someone on an ongoing basis. At the time, I was still looking for employment post graduation and was stuck in what felt like an endless cycle of applying for the few jobs that met my needs regarding hours and location. I’d been considering starting my own marketing business to create a role with a schedule that suited me and my needs, but it is a scary and daunting prospect as any small business owner knows. With the support of my friend who was willing to be my first client, I decided to just go for it.
